    WHAT HAPPENED?

Richards Bay were held to a 0-0 draw by Magesi in Friday's Premier Soccer League encounter at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban.

The match saw both teams create decent goalscoring opportunities, but they failed to take them on the night.

Mduduzi Mdantsane, who recently joined Richards Bay from Kaizer Chiefs, was a noticeable absentee from the matchday squad.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The draw left Richards Bay and Magesi unmoved in the PSL standings as they remained 14th, and 16th respectively.

Both teams are relegation candidates as they continue to struggle this season - finding it difficult to win their matches.

The two strugglers will be desperate to change their fortunes in order to retain their statuses in the top flight.

    WHAT NEXT?

Richards Bay and Magesi will both be in action on February 4 as they take on Marumo Gallants, and Chippa United respectively.

Securing a win would ease the two teams' relegation fears.
