    WHAT HAPPENED?

Fiacre Ntwari began the season strongly as Kaizer Chiefs’ first-choice goalkeeper after joining from TS Galaxy. He impressed in the first five games and continued to shine for the Rwanda national team. However, he has not featured since the match against Magesi, where his form dipped slightly. Despite this, his national team coach Adel Amrouche has publicly backed him, praising his attitude and potential.

The coach confirmed that there is interest in Ntwari from clubs in France. He added that Chiefs is the right environment for the young keeper to develop. The belief is that with time and proper coaching, Ntwari can reclaim his spot between the posts.

    WHAT WAS SAID?

“There is a second division club from France; they also asked me about him,” Amrouche said as reported by FARPost.

The Algerian mentor believes Ntwari is at the right club and will “improve a lot” under Chiefs’ coaches.

“I trust the coaches at Chiefs, and I hope between now and June, he’s going to get his chance to play again because we need him for the rest of the qualifiers," he added.

“He was good. I thought the lack of game time would affect him, but he was good. You can see his teammates trust him, and I also trust him. I have a lot of confidence in him because of his qualities. He’s also an incredible person to work with. He’s a hard worker, and the players love him. People love him in Rwanda.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kaizer Chiefs have endured another inconsistent season under new coach Nasreddine Nabi. However, the Tunisian tactician has managed to guide the team to the final of the Nedbank Cup.

This is a chance to end the club’s long-standing trophy drought, having last won silverware in 2015. The final will be a high-stakes Soweto Derby against rivals Orlando Pirates. A win could signal the start of a new era under Nabi and give the club much-needed momentum.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

Kaizer Chiefs face Marumo Gallants in their next fixture, a chance to gain confidence. They will then take on Orlando Pirates in the second Soweto Derby of the league season. The high-pressure clash will be followed by the Nedbank Cup final also against Pirates in a double dose of derby drama.
