    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has surprisingly not selected goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma to start in the Nedbank Cup final against Orlando Pirates at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

Brandon Petersen will start in goal and will be deputised by Fiacre Ntwari.

Bvuma was most likely dropped because of the incessant criticism he has been enduring in recent weeks.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

This season, Bvuma has been Chiefs' number one goalkeeper since December 2024 and has made 23 starts.

This was after Amakhosi started the season with Ntwari being preferred before Petersen took over.

On the other hand, Pirates welcome back goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, Relebohile Mofokeng and Deon Hotto, who were rested in the midweek victory over Golden Arrows.

The Buccaneers also welcome back Nkosinathi Sibisi and Thalente Mbatha from suspension.
