    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Among the players who were targeted by Chiefs is Luke Le Roux who had a good spell with IFK Varnamo was being monitored by Chiefs after his contract expired.

He had made 16 appearances and his fine displays saw him get a place in Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana team.

However, according to his agent Matthew Moore, the 24-year-old is a target for Hammarby IF, the club owned by legendary striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

    WHAT MOORE SAID

“Yes, I can confirm that Hammarby have made an approach to Varnamo about Luke Le Roux,” he told iDiski Times.

“This move would allow Luke to play at the highest possible level leading up to the 2026 World Cup, which he hopes to be a part of.

“The player has been an outstanding professional during his time at Varnamo. The club got him on a really good deal in the summer and will make a good profit," he added.

“They have more than enough time to find a replacement, so we fully expect them to not stand in the way."
