    WHAT HAPPENED?

Nasreddine Nabi was appointed Kaizer Chiefs coach at the beginning of the season.

He was expected to help the Glamour Boys in their rebuilding process after going for years without a trophy.

Nabi's experience and success with other clubs prompted Amakhosi to give him a chance

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Tunisian failed in his bid to help the team get in the Carling Knockout final, falling heavily against eventual finalists Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-final.

In the Premier Soccer League, things have been tough; the team has not won any of their last four games, which has put Nabi and his technical team under pressure.

There have been speculations that the Soweto giants are considering firing the tactician.

However, Mamelodi Sundowns legend believes that will be a mistake.

    WHAT MODISE SAID

“I think coach Nabi does deserve a chance; I think he deserves more time," he told the media.

"From a person like me who is a fan of football, I believe that he needs to be afforded the chance to sign a couple of players that he needs, the kind of players that can easily adjust to the kind of demands that he wants and the style of play that he wants.

“I mean he still has the players that have been playing for Kaizer Chiefs last season and it’s the same players that were struggling last season. You can change as many coaches as you want, but as long as the players remain the same and they don’t respond to the coach’s instructions or his ideology, it’s always going to be difficult to succeed," Modise continued.

“I think he does deserve the chance. Who knows? He might be the answer because not every coach in South African football becomes successful in his first season,” he concluded.
