Motaung Jr. responds to claims PSL clubs make it hard for Kaizer Chiefs to sign new players - 'I don’t even entertain that, they need us, we need them'

There have been reports clubs sabotage Kaizer Chiefs when it comes to selling players.

In the most recent transfer windows, the Glamour Boys have struggled to strengthen their team.

In the summer transfer window, they failed in their bid to land Khanyisa Mayo, Elias Mokwana, Oswin Appollis, and Asanele Velebayi among others.

When asked whether the Premier Soccer League clubs exploit them, the club's Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. was quick to deny it.

“To be fair, I don’t even entertain that; we’re here all the other clubs are our partners. We are stakeholders in the league. We need each other. They need us. We need them. And it’s a situation of us coming to negotiations," Motaung Jr. told the media.

“They always will have their standpoint. They want to keep their best players. If you had to ask me, anybody coming to ask, you know, ‘sell us Shabalala’, I would say, No. “It’s part of negotiations. It’s part of the industry. It’s part of the business. They have the goals they want to achieve. We have ours.

"So it’s about us engaging in a positive way and trying your best you can to achieve the goals. “So we respect them and respect they respect us. And it’s part of the industry, and you find that, you know, worldwide.”

In the ongoing winter transfer window, Chiefs have already lost the battle to sign Jayden Adams who is set for a new adventure at Mamelodi Sundowns.
