    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi was brought to Naturena to help Kaizer Chiefs bounce back from a poor finish in the 2023/24 Premier Soccer League season.

The Tunisian signed seven players among them Angola international defender Inacio Miguel, Bafana Bafana's Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross and Fiacre Ntwari.

However, he has not had a desired impact at the club, especially in South African top-flight football.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Glamour Boys have conceded seven goals in the five matches they have played in the 2024/25 campaign.

Former coach Molefi Ntseki - who was fired after just 13 matches in charge across all competitions, had a better defensive record after the initial five PSL games.

He managed to help the Soweto Giants keep three clean sheets and collect seven points, the same points total Nabi has achieved.

    WHAT NEXT?

Chiefs face the mighty Sundowns in the quarterfinals of the Carling Knockout Cup on the weekend.

Nabi will need to find a way to shore up his defense in double quick time if Amakhosi are to progress.

Whether they are successful or not, Nabi will have a lengthy period with his players to coach improvements.

Chiefs next competitive fixture in the PSL is against Richards Bay on November 27.
