    WHAT HAPPENED?

In Mamelodi Sundowns’ most recent Caf Champions League group stage match against AS Maniema, Peter Shalulile made a significant impact off the bench.

With his team down by a goal, Shalulile scored a brace, leading Masandawana to a crucial 2-1 victory.

This performance helped Sundowns maintain their pursuit of a spot in the competition’s knockout stages.

On the club’s podcast, former stars Teko Modise and Hlompho Kekana praised the 31-year-old for his attitude and importance to the team under coach Miguel Cardoso.

Modise highlighted the striker's commitment to the game, while Kekana commended his humility and athleticism.

Together, they emphasized that Namibian’s mentality makes him a key player for Sundowns.

    WHAT MODISE AND KEKANA SAID

“Peter is a true sportsman, right, in a sense that he has the right attitude for the game and that the game rewards such people," said Modise on the Pitchside Podcast.

"That’s all I’m saying—have the right attitude the game will reward you. And, and we are not gonna talk about performances against Maniema, nothing. The attitude was proper, my guy. We won the game based on attitude. Yes, Peter had the right attitude, and we say, and I still say that I like players when they’re not playing and that they deserve that they want to play and they sulk. It’s fine as long as they don’t disturb the changing room."

Kekana added: “It’s such a humble human being. He doesn’t fight or do anything, you know, malicious to kick people. He's just an athletic player who wants to win all the time. And you will hate to play against him. Do you know why? He will put you in a position that you are not comfortable in."
