    WHAT HAPPENED?

Mamelodi Sundowns will host Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday in the Premier Soccer League at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

Masandawana are aiming at getting their third win against Amakhosi this season across all competitions.

The initial meetings were in the league, where the Brazilians won 2-1 before registering another 4-0 win in the Carling Knockout.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

While Chiefs' last competitive game was on Tuesday, February 18, Sundowns have played three consecutive games within the last 10 days.

Coach Miguel Cardoso is not sure whether that will work to his team's advantage or disadvantage.

However, he has lauded Nasreddine Nabi, insisting he has what it takes to ensure Amakhosi deliver.

    WHAT CARDOSO SAID

“I don’t know what they have been doing [for the last two weeks], during this period, I cannot say whether it was good or bad [for them],” he said ahead of the game.

“What I know is that their coach [Nabi] always works hard to develop his team. He knows what he has ahead of him, the responsibility of his club; he is a clever man and he is a quality coach.

“In the last days of this period leading up to our match, he will worry about us but before that, he only worried about himself and how he is going to get the team better," Cardoso concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

This is the first time Cardoso will face Kaizer Chiefs since his appointment as Masandawana tactician.

He will not want to be the first coach to lose against Amakhosi for the first time since April 2021.
