    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has stated the Glamour Boys are ready to give their fans what they have always wanted.

Looking back at what they learnt during the pre-season trip to the Netherlands, Ngcobo believes Amakhosi are more than ready for the 2025/26 season.

    HAT NGCOBO SAID

“Our fans should expect what they've been wanting: beautiful football and also goals, team spirit, and a very strong team that will fight in the league,” Ngcobo told Sowetan Live.

“The Netherlands is a great country ... we enjoyed our stay there. Football-wise, it was challenging, and the level is higher, but I think we handled the challenge," he added.

“The games that we played were good... they helped us to see our strengths and weaknesses, so we will be working on our weaknesses while improving on our strengths. They also helped us a lot to see where we are."

"I feel good. I have improved on some aspects. Like I always say, we learn every day, so I think I've learnt a lot from the Netherlands preseason camp."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

While in the Netherlands, Chiefs played and lost to Vitesse, Utrecht, NEC Nijmegen, and FC Twente, and their only win came against PEC Zwolle.

In the pre-season, coach Nasreddine Nabi involved his new signings, players he hopes will give Chiefs a competitive edge in the new season.

Although Amakhosi ended a decade-long trophy drought by winning the Nedbank Cup in the 2024/25 campaign, their struggle in the Premier Soccer League saw them finish in ninth place.
