    WHAT HAPPENED?

The last time Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns met ended with the Brazilians heavily winning 4-0 in a Carling Knockout match.

The two sides now face off at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Former Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi is concerned the Amakhosi defence might be leaky again against Masandawana and offers advice on how to avoid conceding big again.

    WHAT TSOTETSI SAID

"This is a tricky one. If you check some of the last few games, Chiefs have not been doing much. Now they are facing Sundowns and they have built some momentum after losing to TS Galaxy a few weeks ago. So, this is going to be a challenging one for Chiefs, who are still building under the coach [Nasreddine Nabi]," Tsotetsi told Soccer Laduma.

"Chiefs' game plan on the day will be important. They would not want to lose by a big score again, so it will be important to apply themselves, especially in defence.

“They should deny Sundowns space and time on the ball. We all know that when Sundowns has time and space on the ball, they are dangerous because they understand each other," added the ex-Amakhosi star.

“There are a lot of movements that make it difficult for teams to contain Sundowns. If Chiefs can do that, then they have a chance to win this one or take one point away from them."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Amakhosi go into Saturday's match against the background of conceding four goals against SuperSport United last week.

This is something their defence would not want going into a match against a high-scoring Sundowns side that has scored a whopping 42 goals in 18 PSL matches.

Chiefs are also facing Masandawana who have scored at least four goals in a single match nine times this season including beating Orlando Pirates 4-1 in early February and last weekend's 4-1 walloping of TS Galaxy.
