Has Steve Barker just hinted Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have lost Jayden Adams to Mamelodi Sundowns? 'I am not going to deny it!'

South Africa international Jayden Adams has been heavily linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old recently shared a cryptic message that he is leaving Stellies.

The South Africa international was part of the team that beat Stade Malien 2-0 on Sunday in the Caf Confederation Cup to advance to the quarter-final.

Coach Steve Barker was then asked about the future of his star and he gave every indication that he might have played his last game for the club.

"I’m not going to confirm nor deny your question [whether it was Adams’ last game for Stellies or not]. I can’t confirm anything and I’m also not going to deny it," Barker said in a short response to the media.

Kaizer Chiefs will feel the pain more than Pirates since they are in desperate need of a quality midfielder.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi has been hoping to bolster his squad after their poor start to the season.

If Masandawana concludes the deal, then Adams will be the second key player to join the defending Premier Soccer League champions after striker Iqraam Rayners.

Adams will have a chance to play in the Caf Champions League if he indeed joins Sundowns.

However, the massive prize will be playing in the 2025 Fifa Club World Cup in June which will provide a massive marketing avenue for him.
