Has Johnson hinted Dolly is on his way out of Kaizer Chiefs? - 'We have to leave that until the end of season'

Just like Khama Billiat, Keagan Dolly's time at Kaizer Chiefs has been characterised by inconsistencies and injuries.

His contract with the club will expire at the end of the 2023/24 season, and rumours have it Amakhosi have proposed a new deal with lowered terms, something that has not gone down well with the 31-year-old.

Interim coach Cavin Johnson was asked about the future of the attacker, but the tactician refused to give an assurance the former Montpellier player would be retained.

"[Whether Dolly will be here or not] is a blunt question to ask me at this time of the [season] only because Keagan has been out [injured]," the former Al Ahly assistant coach responded to the media.

"If I said this and that, it looks very much like I haven’t given much for Keagan to say, but I think we have to leave that for the end of the season."

Dolly's last appearance was on March 5 when he lasted 70 minutes in Amakhosi's 1-0 win over Golden Arrows in a Premier Soccer League encounter.

So far this season, the versatile attacker has made just seven league appearances and managed an assist.

If Dolly does not accept the rumoured pay cut offered by the club, then the Glamour Boys might opt to let him leave as they did with Billiat.

Dolly is now working on his fitness hoping to convince the club's technical team that he has what it takes to help them end the trophy drought next season.

Amakhosi are in the market for a new coach who can help the team achieve their objectives as soon as possible.
