    WHAT HAPPENED?

SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has disclosed when he intends to start utilizing new signings Samir Nurkovic and Abubaker Nasir

Nurkovic, a former Kaizer Chiefs star, joined Matsatsantsa last month after leaving TS Galaxy in September. Meanwhile, Nasir was acquired from Mamelodi Sundowns on a one-year loan agreement.

With SuperSport finding it difficult to score goals and seemingly depending solely on seasoned striker Bradley Grobler, Hunt is confident that the two fresh signings will contribute essential value to their attacking line.

    WHAT HUNT SAID

"Nasir started training recently for the first time since he came here. He came in August, first, he trained this week and you can see his quality. He's got pace, which we need," Hunt said per Sowetan

"I would have loved to bring him against Richards Bay but we couldn't. We can't take a chance here. But he's got quality, there is no doubt. It's like Samir Nurkovic will come in January and make a big difference to us.

"We can't also keep on relying on Bradley Grobler. He has been doing it I don't know for how many years," he added.

"He had a major operation, so I played him in the last two weeks and he was struggling. He has been a good servant for SuperSport."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

SuperSport started the current PSL season poorly, having gathered 12 points from 10 matches. They have secured three victories, drawn three times, and faced four defeats up to this point.

The Tshwane outfit, currently in eighth place in the Premier Soccer League standings, has played several games without Grobler, who suffered an injury during the MTN8 quarter-final against Orlando Pirates in August.

However, the former Bafana Bafana player has now returned to the field, and Hunt will rely on him, Nasir, and Nurkovic along with other experienced team members.
