Former Orlando Pirates star Lehlohonolo Seema welcomes 'big point' for Siwelele against Kaizer Chiefs insisting team was 'different' versus Amakhosi

    Chiefs misery extended

Kaizer Chiefs are winless in the last six games in domestic matches, of which five are in the Premier Soccer League.

On Wednesday, they could have pressurized Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United, who are occupying the first two positions, with a win over Siwelele, but the game ended 0-0.

It was not a welcome result for the club faithful who have stuck with the team through thick and thin.

    Relief for Siwelele

Siwelele desperately needed a positive result after struggling for consistency in the ongoing campaign under coach Lehlohonolo Seema.

The Premier Soccer League outfit had managed just two wins, a draw, and six losses that put them in the relegation zone.

Even after gaining a point against Amakhosi, they are still 15th on the table with eight points, but, according to the former Pirates star Seema, it is a good sign that things are falling in place.

Seema happy with the result and promises more

“The mindset of the players is very positive and they are believing in the process,” he told the media.

“I told you already, after the FIFA break, this team will be a different team. First game after the break, we did not concede, we were playing away, and we got a point. So definitely, there’s something we are building on.”

“We had to work on mental strength because this team was low in confidence. They used to play not to lose, but now we’re trying to play to win. It’s a process, and we’re getting there,” Seema continued.

“If we cannot win away, we must at least get a point, but at home it’s a must-win. When we get three points at home, you’ll see how big this point becomes.

“Sooner or later, we’ll get it right and win one, two, maybe even three or four in a row. That will be good,” he concluded.

Another break, a blessing for Siwelele?

Siwelele were eliminated from the Carling Knockout, which takes center stage this weekend with quarter-final matches.

Seema will have more time to prepare his arsenal before facing Sekhukhune on the last day of the month in another tough PSL fixture.

And before the AFCON hiatus they will face Stellenbosch, AmaZulu, Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns. Any and all points picked up in that run of fixtures will be most welcome.
