    Vital extra-time goal for Arrows

Galaxy scored in the 21st minute to take the lead when Sbonelo Cele scored an own goal. The fullback attempted to clear the ball, only for him to deflect it into his own net.

Arrows managed to restore parity in the 44th minute when Oumar Komora found the back of the net. Cele delivered a good corner that Comora just needed to rise high for and ensure the teams went for the break on equal terms.

In the second half, none managed to score, and that means the players were to take on each other for an extra 30 minutes.

Eventually, it was Arrows who scored the vital winning goal that ensured they reached the last four of the domestic competition. The decisive moment came in the ninth minute of extra time when Ayabulela Maxwele found the back of the net.

  • Milestones

Although Puso Dithejane ended the day on the losing side, he was named the Man of the Match. This is the second such award for the Kaizer Chiefs product after shining previously against Sekhukhune United. He is now R200,000 richer.

On the other hand, Angelo Van Rooi of Arrows was recognised for achieving his 50th cap for the club.
