Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat and former Kaizer Chiefs star Musona's brother in the running for Zimbabwe's PSL Soccer Star of the Year award

The two former Premier Soccer League players have been making waves in their home country and have been tipped for a return to Mzansi.

    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Football writers, players and coaches in Zimbabwe selected eleven finalists for the country's 2024 Premier Soccer League season.

    Former Kaizer Chiefs star and now Yadah FC attacker Khama Billiat as well as ex-Polokwane City star Walter Musona made the list.

    The selection also features former Maritzburg United (now Durban City) left-back Blessing Moyo who is Musona's teammate at champions Simba Bhora.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Billiat was included on the list following a season following a season he scored 13 league goals and made 11 assists in 26 games to make himself the favourite for the Soccer Star of the Year gong.

    Musona, on the other hand, managed to score 10 goals and that has seen him being linked with a move to Chiefs, having also managed to make himself a Zimbabwe national team regular.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BILLIAT & MUSONA?

    The Soccer Star of the Year will be crowned on December 6 at a gala dinner where his two runners-up will also be revealed.

    It is to be seen if Billiat or Musona will claim it as they continue being reported as having attracted the interest of PSL clubs.
