    WHAT HAPPENED?

Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Junior Khanye has warned Mamelodi Sundowns of the possible threat posed by Pyramids FC's Fiston Mayele.

Mayele, a former Amakhosi transfer target, has become a dependable scorer for the Egyptian club, and Khanye believes he will find the back of the net against the Tshwane giants.

Khanye has also predicted how he feels the game will end.

    WHAT KHANYE SAID

“My prediction: I see the game ending 0-0 or 2-1. Sundowns will probably score, and Mayele is going to score," Khanye is quoted by iDiski Times as saying.

"He is going to score the winning goal. It’s going to be 2-1 or 0-0 for me.”

    WHAT IS MORE

On his part, Benedict 'Tso' Vilakazi gave his prediction and was in favour of the Brazilians.

“As Sporo Mangena once said, I put my head on the block. Sundowns 2-1 Pyramids. Whether Coach Miguel Cardoso likes it or not, he will play the way I want, attacking football. Sundowns will win this game 2-1," the former Orlando Pirates star stated.

“They will win another star. Come Sunday evening, dark or blue, raining or storming, I’m saying right now that Sundowns 2-1 Pyramids."

“We cannot lose because we are singing a good song in South Africa right now. Our U17S are going to the World Cup, our U20S are going to the World Cup, Sundowns are going to play in the Club World Cup, and Banyana Banyana and Bafana Bafana are going to Afcon," he added.

“We are singing a very good song, and it cannot be stopped by Sundowns.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mayele has proved himself to be a lethal attacker and will surely be one against the visiting giants.

In the semi-final, his brilliance, where he scored twice, saw him help the Egyptian side beat Orlando Pirates in the second leg.

Sundowns head to the return leg having failed to capitalise on home advantage as they allowed their opponents to score a late goal.

However, playing in Egypt is not something strange to the Premier Soccer League giants and champions. They showed great determination to hold Al Ahly to a 1-1 draw in the semi-final.

Against Pyramids, they must show the same determination if they have to realise their dream of winning the second Champions League trophy.

    WHAT NEXT FOR SUNDOWNS?

It has been a busy season for the Brazilians; they engaged in multiple contests, and although they lost the Nedbank Cup race, Masandawana defended the PSL title.

Now, the focus is on the continental final, and thereafter we will look forward to the engagement in the Fifa Club World Cup that starts in mid-June.

The Pyramids game will be played on June 1 at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo.
