    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Defending champions Orlando Pirates were the first to punch their ticket to the semi-finals with a 2-0 win over Polokwane City, while Sekhukhune United staged a dramatic comeback to edge TS Galaxy 3-2 after trailing by two goals.

    On Sunday, 3 August, Stellenbosch overcame AmaZulu in a thrilling 3-2 contest, before Mamelodi Sundowns wrapped up the weekend with a dominant 4-0 victory over Richards Bay.  

    With all four teams confirmed, the semi-final draw has now locked in the matchups for the final four.

    Pirates, who are in pursuit of a record-extending fourth consecutive MTN8 title, will be aiming to cement their dominance in the competition once again, with the added incentive of walking away with the lucrative R10 million prize that comes with lifting the trophy.

    The semi-final stage will be contested over two legs, with each team playing home and away to determine who advances to the final, where the winner will walk away with the glory and the grand prize.  

    The first leg of the semi-finals is set to take place over the weekend of 16 and 17 August.
