Christian Pulisic, Trinity Rodman highlight list as U.S. Soccer announces nominees for end of year awards

U.S. Soccer has announced the shortlist for their year-end awards, highlighted by the male and female player of the year nominees, with the award set to be handed out this month.

On the men's side, Christian Pulisic is joined by Ricardo Pepi, Folarin Balogun, Tim Ream and Antonee Robinson. On the women's side, Trinity Rodman is joined by Sophia Smith, Noami Girma, Mallory Swanson and retiring goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher.

The nominees for young player of the year were also announced, with Gianluca Busio, Mathis Albert, Tanner Tessmann, Niko Tsakiris and David Vazquez making up the men's nominees, and on the women's side, Ally Sentnor is accompanied by Claire Hutton, Kennedy Fuller, Trinity Armstrong and Jordyn Bugg.

Other award nominees include game of the year, and male and female referee of the year.

The game of the year nominees include the USMNT's CONCACAF Nations League victory over Mexico, the USWNT's Gold Medal win at the Paris Olympics over Brazil, the U.S. Women's Deaf National Team's televised 11-0 victory over Australia ,and LAFC's 3-1 victory over Sporting Kansas City in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Championship game.

The year-end award winners are expected to be named before the end of December.
