    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Kaizer Chiefs have announced the appointment of Cedric Kaze as assistant coach to Nasreddine Nabi.

    Kaze replaces Fernando da Cruz who did not last long at Naturena after he was offered a job by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

    The Burundian is reunited with Amakhosi coach Nasreddine Nabi whom he previously assisted at Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

    WHAT MOTAUNG SAID

    "Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career," Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr told the club website.

    "His familiarity with coach Nabi's methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Kaze brings some wealth of experience to Chiefs, having previously worked with the FC Barcelona academy for two and half years.

    He was also a youth football coach in Canada and also worked in his native Burundi, Rwanda and Tanzania.

    He is expected to add more football brains to Nabi's technical team as Chiefs bid to end a nine-year run without winning trophies.

    WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS?

    The Soweto giants prepare to take on SuperSport in Saturday's Caf Carling Knockout Last-16 clash with SuperSport United.

    It is expected to be Kaze's first match on the Amakjosi bench assisting Nabi.
