Former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has been ordered to pay Mexican club Pumas £1.7 million ($2.3m) in compensation after losing a lengthy legal battle over his contract termination. The Swiss Federal Supreme Court upheld a previous Court of Arbitration for Sport ruling in favour of the Liga MX outfit, who sacked the Brazilian in the wake of his January 2023 arrest.
New York Red Bulls have completed the signing of Mexican international Jorge Ruvalcaba from Pumas UNAM, securing one of Liga MX’s most promising attackers. The 24-year-old joins MLS on a long-term deal through 2029, with the club viewing him as a key piece of their attacking project moving forward. Michael Bradley’s side has also strengthened their roster with the addition of Cade Cowell from Chivas.
