Former Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah has given his reasons for leaving Arne Slot's side in favour of a move to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen. The 22-year-old, who has been included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the fixtures against Wales and Latvia, explained how he needed to be playing more regularly, and that was not guaranteed if he'd decided to stay in the Premier League.
Liverpool have reportedly agreed to sign a shock Marc Guehi alternative in 2027 with personal terms already finalised for the £35 million defender. The Red's frantic transfer window ended in heartbreak after their pursuit of Crystal Palace captain Guehi spectacularly fell through. The England centre-back had been poised for a high-profile Anfield switch, even undergoing medical checks, before Palace chairman Steve Parish pulled the plug at the final hour.
Liverpool won't be able to exercise their buyback clause for Jarell Quansah until 2027 as official confirmation of his move to Bayer Leverkusen approaches.
