    WHAT HAPPENED?

    The Argentine tactician took in 293 games as Spurs boss between 2014 and 2019, leading them to the Champions League final during his final full season with the club. He has since gone on to spend time with Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and the United States Men's National Team.

    He only took on a new challenge in America a matter of months ago, in September 2024, but is already seeing a return to club management speculated on. It has been suggested that he could head back to north London before next summer’s World Cup finals – a tournament that the U.S. will be co-hosting.

    Pochettino has not been quizzed on those links directly, but has told The Sun of keeping a close eye on events in England: "I watch all the games that I can. And, of course, one of the teams that I always watch is Tottenham, for sure."

Pochettino is, however, backing the Australian to turn things around. He added: "He's a great coach. Great club, great fans. It's impossible to say anything but good things about everyone there."

    He added on Postecoglou’s challenges: "That is football, that is life. Sometimes ups, sometimes downs. That is what happens. We are colleagues, we are coaches. Always we need to be focused on ourselves, and every single coach in the world has their ideas and the capacity to change things."

    Postecoglou has guided Tottenham into the last 16 of the Europa League, but suffered a semi-final defeat to Liverpool in the Carabao Cup and sees his expensively-assembled squad sat 14th in the Premier League table with 14 games left to take in this season.
