THE BIGGER PICTURE
Spurs utilised a concussion substitute to replace Bentancur as part of a quadruple substitution that saw Lucas Bergvall and Archie Gray both make their first-team Premier League debuts. Sky issued an update during the game, confirming that Bentancur was up and talking, and would be monitored throughout the evening by Spurs' medical staff.
Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed after full-time that Bentancur had returned to consciousness.
He said: "Yeah, look I don't have a lot of information but I know he is up and he's communicating so he's fine from that point of view. But obviously a head injury and I'll leave it in hands of the medical team now.
"The key thing is that he's definitely conscious and communicating."
