    WHAT HAPPENED?

Following Thatayaone Ditlhokwe’s February move to Libyan giants Al Ittihad, this left Nasreddine Nabi seeking options to fill the void at left-back.

Bongani Sam, who signed from Orlando Pirates, failed to make an appearance, while Bradley Cross struggled to settle in the role and ended the season at left centre-back after Rushwin Dortley’s injury.

This prompted Chiefs to enter the market and then agreeing to sign Nkanyiso Shinga from Portuguese top-flight side FC Alverca. Reports of how much Chiefs agreed to sign the Durban-born have been revealed.

“The South African club assumes a value close to 200,000 Euros (R4,2 million) to have the 25-year-old player,” the report ended.

Shinga’s journey included spells at Vitória Setúbal, Pinhalnovense and Juventude de Évora before joining Amadora Star.

In 2024, he moved to Alverca in Portugal’s second division, making 22 appearances for the club.
