    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Sekhukhune United defeated the National First Division team Milford FC 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 match at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday afternoon to advance to the tournament’s last eight.

    Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Linda Mntambo scored the two goals for the PSL side, while Menzi Chili netted the consolation goal for the Stallions in KwaZulu-Natal.

    A victory for Sekhukhune confirmed that they will face Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals as the PSL had already conducted the draw before Sunday's match.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    Milford were given a bye in the Last 32 after Royal AM were removed from the Nedabbk Cup due to the latter's owner, Shaun Mkhize's ongoing case with the South African Revenue Service.

    The Limpopo-based outfit joined eight teams in the last eight, including Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC.

    Sekhukhune will face Sundowns on Saturday in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals.
