The Argentinian was stretchered off following a heavy collision, paving the way for young prospect Mike Penders to make an unexpected Premier League debut and help his side maintain the shutout.

Will Chelsea begin a positive run?

David Moyes was left incensed by the officiating at Goodison Park as Everton saw their unbeaten start to the season come to a grinding halt against Chelsea. The Toffees boss believes his side were on the wrong end of several key decisions that ultimately swung the momentum in favour of the visitors.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has provided an encouraging update regarding the condition of Emi Martinez after the goalkeeper was stretchered off during Saturday's Premier League victory over Everton.
