Premier League champions Liverpool have been almost unbeatable across the last two seasons and are gunning to retain the title they romped to in 2019-20.
The Reds are currently third in the table, one point behind leaders Leicester City, thanks to a 100 per cent record at Anfield which has extended their run to an incredible 63 home games without defeat in the league.
Liverpool have now gone three seasons without tasting defeat on home turf and bet365 offer 10/3 (4.33) that they repeat the feat this time around.
Crystal Palace were the last Premier League team to win an away match at Anfield, coming from behind to win 2-1 in April 2017 thanks to a brace from Christian Benteke.
The ensuing 63-game unbeaten run at the ground has seen the Reds victorious on an astonishing 52 occasions, with Jurgen Klopp’s men winning 36 out of the last 38 and looked set for a perfect season at home last term but could only draw against Burnley in their penultimate game there.
Despite picking up four wins from four and being the only team still unbeaten at home in the 2020-21 season, it has not been the most convincing of starts by the champions.
It took a late Mohamed Salah penalty to escape with a 4-3 victory over newly-promoted Leeds United, who equalised on three occasions, whilst the Reds had to come from behind against both Sheffield United and West Ham to win 2-1 each time.
GettyThey also conceded first when Arsenal visited Merseyside but debutant Diogo Jota’s late strike rounded out a 3-1 win and that remains their only home victory by more than one goal.
As well, the 10/3 (4.33) quote comes despite the multitude of injury problems at Anfield, with centre-back pair Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez likely to miss the majority of the season whilst Thiago, Fabinho and Trent Alexander-Arnold are amongst those set to miss at least a few weeks.
Only Chelsea have ever recorded a longer unbeaten home streak in the Premier League, going 86 games unbeaten between 2004 and 2008 – during which time they won 62 games – before, coincidentally, Liverpool ended that run thanks to an early Xabi Alonso strike at Stamford Bridge.
If Liverpool are to top that, they will not only have to justify that 10/3 (4.33) price on going unbeaten at home this season but also avoid defeat in a further nine to start the 2021-22 season.
