Napoli v Udinese: Coppa Italia Round of 16 to see plenty of goals

The Coppa Italia has thrown up an intriguing tie on Tuesday evening as Serie A leaders Napoli host an in-form Udinese side.

The Partenopei's status as league leaders is down in part to Udinese themselves, who beat Inter Milan 3-1 on the weekend, allowing Napoli to regain top spot with a win over Torino by the same scoreline.

That result at the San Siro was Inter's first defeat of the season and confirmed that Udinese are on an excellent run, with the side from the north-east of Italy having won each of their last four matches in all competitions; indeed, Udinese's last defeat came at the hands of Napoli in Serie A on 28th November when Maurizio Sarri's side triumphed 1-0 at the Dacia Arena.

The Last 16 is the round of the competition where Serie A's top teams enter and Napoli will be playing their first match in the tournament, while Udinese have already played two games to reach this stage.

As such, how seriously both managers take the game in terms of team selection remains to be seen, but it is fair to expect both sides to field starting elevens somewhat different to the ones that began their respective league wins at the weekend.

Udinese's two wins in the Coppa have both come at home as they overcame Frosinone 3-2 before thrashing Perugia by an 8-3 scoreline, showing that scoring goals for Massimo Oddo's side has not been a problem this term.

On the road in Serie A, Udinese have netted in all seven of their matches - including in their trips to Milan, Inter, Roma and Fiorentina - and Napoli have conceded in three of their last four domestic games at the Stadio San Paolo, so backing both teams to score at 17/20 (1.85) looks tempting.

With the visitors having netted in all their away games this term and Napoli having scored in 16 of their last 19 home contests in all competitions, opposing either side to keep a clean sheet should appeal.
