Everton vs Liverpool Betting Tips: Calvert-Lewin and Salah to shine in Merseyside Derby

The first Merseyside Derby of the 2020-21 Premier League season takes place on Saturday lunchtime as table-toppers Everton host champions Liverpool.

A run of four wins from four games means the Toffees are three points clear at the head of the table, whilst Liverpool’s winning start came crashing down to Earth in a staggering 7-2 defeat at Aston Villa.

It is set to be a thrilling affair at Goodison Park as the hosts look for their first league win over Liverpool in 10 years, and our tipster has put together a 160/1 (161.0) selection using bet365’s Bet Builder tool.

Bet Builder allows punters to combine multiple selections from the same game to create a bet, and the 160/1 (161.0) consists of: Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mohamed Salah to score, Lucas Digne, Fabinho and Joe Gomez to be carded.

Calvert-Lewin has started the season in impressive form with six goals in four appearances, including a hat-trick against Tottenham, and he will be determined to maintain that scoring run on Saturday.

The England striker, who also scored on his debut for the national team in October, has started seven matches against the Reds but the partnership he has formed with James Rodriguez makes him the most dangerous he has been in his young career.

Only one goal behind him this season is Salah and, since his Liverpool debut in August 2017, no player has scored more Premier League goals than two-time Golden Boot winner.

His first appearance against the Toffees saw the Egyptian score a wonder goal which eventually won the Puskas Award and remains his only strike in this fixture, having sat out both games last season.

Yellow cards are a fixture in almost every Merseyside Derby and each of the last four Premier League renewals have seen three cards or more.

Digne picked up six bookings for Everton in the league last season, including one when these sides met at Goodison Park in June, as well as another in the FA Cup clash between the rivals.

For Liverpool, Fabinho has been a serial offender since joining the club in 2018 with 12 yellow cards in 46 starts and has been booked twice in just three games against the Toffees.

Team-mate Gomez also has a tendency to find his way into the referee’s book, being his side's most cautioned player last season with seven yellows in just 22 starts.
