  • WHAT HAPPENED?

There is no option for the England international to head for Australia any time soon, with the popular ITV show running on an annual basis from mid-November and through towards Christmas. At that time of year, Grealish is otherwise engaged with Premier League and Champions League competition.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Manchester City playmaker is, however, open to jetting Down Under at some stage. He admits to being a big fan of the production, which takes famous personalities out of their comfort zone, and could be a star attraction in future series.

  • WHAT GREALISH SAID

Ant and Dec have said in a video posted from their jungle camp: “What do you think about Jack Grealish for next year?”

The man himself responded by saying: “I’ve heard that a few of you guys want to see me in the jungle. It is something that I’d absolutely love to do. It’s a show that I’ve watched for years, since I was little. And, yeah, a show that I love. I don’t know how I’d get on in there. I don’t think I’d be the best, to be honest, but, yeah, I’d give it a go. Obviously not this year. I don’t think Pep would be too happy if I ended up in there this year. But, you know, never say never – could happen one day.”

  • WHAT NEXT?

Guardiola needs Grealish at his disposal after seeing City endure an uncharacteristic wobble of late, with the English title holders suffering four successive defeats across all competitions. With Grealish tied up there, he is having to watch on from afar as the likes of Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen compete in the 2024 edition of I’m A Celeb – with John Fashanu, Neil Ruddock, Rodney Marsh, Jimmy Bullard, Kieron Dyer, Wayne Bridge, Ian Wright and Jill Scott among the other footballers to have previously graced the show.
