An emotional and informative documentary series that sheds light on some unique aspects of the beautiful game.

It was always going to be an entertaining combination and Maradona's time in charge of Dorados makes for truly gripping viewing. 

From the manager's crazy antics on the touchlines, to the team's ability to punch above their weight, Maradona in Mexico is a hard show to stop watching. 

The Argentina legend is synonymous with plenty of myth and mystery these days but this documentary allows us to really get to know the man behind the now trademark snapback.

While enjoyed most by Manchester City fans, this documentary series offers some impressive access to the Premier League club during the 2017-18 season. 

Narrated by Sir Ben Kingsley and providing unique insight into manager Pep Guardiola, All or Nothing is well worth watching - even if you're a Manchester United fan. 

Next up for the series is Tottenham's current season under Jose Mourinho, which will be a must-watch.

If you've ever wanted to know more about the harsh reality of relegation in football, look no further than this documentary series.

Filmed after Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League in 2017, it was supposed to capture their rise back to the top-flight but instead captured something far more dramatic. 

Incredible behind-the-scenes footage makes this a tough but fascinating watch with a second season also set to drop on April 1.

While more of a period drama than full-blown football show, The English Game still offers an interesting glimpse back at football over a century ago when passing was frowned upon and formations consisted of six strikers. 

Focused around class tensions, the show also provides a timely reminder of the importance of football for everyone trying to deal with life's challenges.

The English Game is one of Netflix's newer football offerings and while well made, its focus on matters off the pitch means it won't be for everyone looking for their football fix.

A long-running British drama based around fictional side Harchester United, Dream Team is football's answer to a soap opera. 

On air between 1997 and 2007, the show might not have aged too well in some aspects but with over 400 episodes it is sure to keep you entertained for months to come. 

Originally aired on Sky One but not currently available via streaming services. 

One of football's fallen giants is followed across the 2018-19 season as they chase promotion back to the Premier League. 

With Marcelo Bielsa at the helm of Leeds, the drama comes thick and fast with 'Spygate' providing some particularly interesting material. 

Narrated by Russell Crowe, too, which only adds to the intensity.

A short documentary series looking at Manchester United legends and their decision to buy shares in Salford City FC. 

Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and Phil Neville take centre stage with the show revealing the harsh reality of owning a football club, as well as life in England's lower divisions.

This Argentine drama sheds some light on Carlos Tevez's childhood and what it was like growing up ​in Fuerte Apache.

As such, this show is about far more than just football but does a good job of highlighting the tough upbringings many footballers from South America experience. 

A tough watch at times but will ensure you never look at Tevez the same way.

Centred around English club Torquay, the episode explains the incredible story of how the club survived thanks to a police dog.
