  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Yamal enjoyed a fine night at the Ballon d'Or ceremony on Monday in Paris. The 17-year-old became the youngest player ever to win the Kopa Trophy and was also tipped to claim the Ballon d'Or in the future by winner Rodri. Yamal also posed for photographs with Natalie Portman and team-mates Pau Cubarsi and Dani Olmo and appeared to get the Star Wars actor to make a joke at Real Madrid's expense. Portman could be seen holding up four fingers, potentially mocking Madrid for Saturday's 4-0 defeat by Barcelona in El Clasico, a gesture that left her and Yamal in fits of laughter.

    Fans were quick to notice the gesture.

    Barca supporter @JeffFcb14 posted on X: "Padme (Natalie Portman) scoring the 4th of the goals we scored against Madrid in the classic. Star Wars legend mocks Madrid."

    Another fan, @Salagah89, wrote: "Cooking Madrid on and off the field I love this."

    And @AwaaraHoon added: "lmao no way she pointed out 4 reminding of El Clasico score," while @4SCRF posted simply: "She’s pointing 4."

    Yamal fan @Yamal1076 added it seemed to be an"Iconic moment."

    Yamal also enjoyed himself in El Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu. The 17-year-old sported some custom star brackets in his club's colours for the match and went on to score Barcelona's third of the night to become the youngest player ever to net in the famous fixture between the two bitter rivals. The win moves Hansi Flick's side six points clear of Los Blancos in the Spanish top flight and continues their resurgence this season under the German coach.

    Barcelona midfielder Gavi also held up four fingers during El Clasico in a clash with Vinicius Jr to remind his opponent of the score. The Brazilian hit back by saying "but on Monday I'm going for the Ballon d'Or" - only to end up boycotting the ceremony after finding out Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri would win the prestigious prize instead.
