    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Haaland has scored 21 goals in 28 Premier League games this season, while also registering three assists. His form has been electric, but Pep Guardiola's side remain fifth in the Premier League table, and in danger of potentially missing out on Champions League qualification.

  • WHAT LINEKER SAID

On Saturday night's edition of Match of the Day, Lineker said: "Haaland, fastest to 100 goals and assists, or what's the buzzword, Alan?"

    Shearer replied: "Goal involvements."

Lineker said: "Goal involvements! That's right."

After crediting Haaland for his achievement, Lineker joked: "Another of your records glides away into thin air."

Shearer shot back: "You say it with such glee on your face. I didn't even know that was a record, to be honest!"
