'We need another title' - Mohamed Salah issues strong statement on Premier League race as Liverpool extend lead with Man City win

Salah scored and set up another as the Reds claimed the win to go 11 points clear at the top of the table with 11 games left to play. Almost five years have passed since Salah won his sole Premier League title to date and the Egypt star says it is imperative that they see out the job this season.

Salah was asked by Sky Sports if he is playing at the best level of his career, but the 32-year-old stressed winning the English crown is the only important thing.

"I don't know. It is opinion. Maybe people prefer my first seasons or now but I prefer now because winning the league, helping the young players, it is special," he said. "We need another title. Me and the big guys in the team, we need another title."

Salah now has an incredible 25 goals and 16 assists in 27 league games this season and is one goal involvement away from matching his most prolific season since joining in 2017. However, he has claimed this is likely his final year at the club with his contract expiring in the summer, which explains his urgency to get his hands on another winners' medal.

Salah and his co-stars do not have much time to rest after their latest win as they take on Newcastle in the league on Wednesday.
