The MLS side have already brought three of Lionel Messi’s former Barcelona team-mates to Florida in Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba. Yet, with the latter pair set to depart at the end of the season, the club owned by David Beckham will now be looking to revitalise the squad – with Messi still at the core. With the Argentinian and Suarez looking like they will remain at the club, the Herons will be desperate to add another superstar to their frontline, and who better than Neymar.
The Daily Mail report that the Brazilian could join the MLS side as early as January, once his deal with Santos ends, and may fancy once again taking up that vacant spot on the left of his close friends. Should he opt to make that move, he will take his place on the field ahead of Sergio Reguilon, who looks set to complete a transfer to the club to replace Alba. The former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur full-back will bring heaps of experience at the top echelons of European football and will be hopeful of rebuilding his stuttering career alongside some of football’s greatest ever players.
Like Reguilon, Neymar will be desperate to get his career back on track. Ever since making his disastrous switch to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, Neymar has struggled for form and fitness, costing him his place in the national team and ousting him from the thoughts of Carlo Ancelotti. A switch to Miami and back with Messi and Suarez could prove to be the spark Neymar needs to get back into his groove.
