    THE BIGGER PICTURE

  • DID YOU KNOW?

He has broken his trophy curse in Germany, becoming a Bundesliga title winner in 2024-25 before savouring Super Cup success at the start of the current campaign. Kane insists that he has no regrets about swapping life at Spurs for that at the Allianz Arena.

    WHAT HAMANN SAID

Hamann can appreciate that stance, with the former Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern midfielder - speaking in association with Grosvenor Casino - telling GOAL: "I heard what Michael Owen said the other day, that he didn’t understand why he’s gone to Germany, and obviously he sees it from a centre-forward’s perspective.

"I think he’s still 40 or 50 goals short of that Premier League record. If he’d stayed, he probably would have broken it. For me, a trophy would always be a lot more important than individual honours.

"I’ve never been a goalscorer, but if you say to me, ‘You can be the Premier League all-time top scorer’, or ‘You have two, three, five trophies in the cabinet at the end of your career’, I would always take the trophies over individual honours. Wouldn’t be a question for me."

  • WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?

Kane has adopted that stance and makes no apologies for pursuing tangible success outside of his comfort zone. A return to the Premier League continues to be speculated on, alongside a switch to Barcelona, with the 32-year-old frontman under contract in Munich through to 2027.
