Man Utd pre-season 2024: Tour, fixtures, results, tickets & how to watch

With the Red Devils failing to make the top-four in the Premier League, here's everything you need to know about their pre-season.

Manchester United had very little to celebrate in the 2023-24 season, finishing eighth in the Premier League and dumped out of the Carabao Cup and Europe entirely by mid-December.

However, thanks to Erik ten Hag's men defeating Manchester City in the FA Cup final and UEFA's ruling, the Red Devils will partake in the upcoming Europa League.

Before heading back to the US this summer as part of their preparations for the 2024-25 season, Ten Hag's charges played club friendlies against Rosenborg (1-0 loss) and Rangers (2-0 win) in Norway and Scotland on July 15 and 20, respectively.

In the US, the Red Devils lost their opening US tour game against Premier League rivals Arsenal 2-1 in Los Angeles at the SoFi Stadium on July 27. Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring for United before Gabriel Jesus restored parity. Gabriel Martinelli struck the decisive blow to seal the pre-season win.

Man United managed to beat Real Betis 3-2 before suffering a 0-3 loss against Liverpool in their final game before the league season begins.

How to watch Man Utd pre-season games on TV & livestream online
Fans can watch Man Utd's pre-season games on the club's official MUTV app; and while the game against the Gunners was also shown on Arsenal.com, the game against the Reds can be watched on LFCTV and LFCTVGO.
For the US audience, in addition to MUTV, the games against Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool were available to watch and stream online live through ESPN+, ESPN, ESPN Deportes, Fubo (sign up for a free 7-day trial), DirecTV Stream and Sling Orange.

When does the 2024-25 season start for Man Utd?
Having clinched the 2023-24 FA Cup, Manchester United's opening game of the 2024-25 season will be the FA Community Shield clash against reigning Premier League champions Manchester City on Saturday, August 10, at 10 am ET / 3 pm BST.
So, United will have approximately a week between their final pre-season game and their first competitive match of the season, while the Red Devil's opening game in the English top-flight is set to be against Fulham on Friday, August 16, at 3 pm ET / 8 pm BST.
Once the season grows older, Ten Hag's side will see themselves involved in the Carabao Cup and the Europa League fixtures as well.
