Kylian Mbappe poses with Real Madrid's iconic No.9 shirt for first time alongside Florentino Perez after officially completing long-awaited transfer

After several years of speculation regarding a move to Spain, the World Cup winner is finally treading that path in 2024. Mbappe has severed ties with Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain as their all-time leading scorer, with the decision taken to hit free agency at the end of his contract.

Real’s patience is now being rewarded, with the 25-year-old becoming another ‘Galactico’ for Florentino Perez. He has proudly welcomed Mbappe to the Spanish capital, with passionate supporters preparing to do likewise at a special show inside Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe was all smiles when getting his hands on a famous white jersey for the first time, with the France international taking No.9 as Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior already fills his favoured No.7 spot. Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo also took nine when first arriving in Madrid.

Big things are expected of Mbappe as he joins Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded squad. Real captured La Liga and Champions League titles in 2023-24, with the expectation being that another marquee addition to their ranks will help bids to successfully defend those domestic and continental crowns.
