  • WHAT HAPPENED?

There were blushes for Sanchez early in the clash with West Ham when the Chelsea keeper saw Paqueta's long-range strike bend over his head into the back of the net to give the Hammers the lead. Paqueta's shot was fully 25 yards out and curling wickedly but Sanchez flapped at the ball, seemingly going for it with the 'wrong' hand and the ball nestled into the inside netting. It was a shocker of a moment during what was eventually an excellent first half for the visitors. And the reaction on social media was brutal.

    WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

The reaction came thick and fast following Sanchez's howler, CFCDray said: "My head can’t even wrap around this, how was guys defending Sanchez? and calling him better than Donnarumma?"

Elsewhere, EiFSoccer simply said: "Robert Sanchez man…what a horrific goalkeeper."

Iewdawg took it one step further, fearful for the season ahead, said: "Genuinely what is sanchez doing? we’ve gotta put up with this guy for another season lol."

And charliepatrick0 added: "Don’t worry guys Sanchez has improved that’s what everyone keeps telling me…"

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Prior to this match, Chelsea were on a run of three Premier League matches without conceding a goal until Paqueta swung his boot outside Sanchez's box.
