  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Spurs academy graduate Kane left his boyhood club for Bayern two years ago and a return has long been mooted as a future possibility. England legend Chris Waddle has played down that idea, however, believing the Three Lions skipper is set to remain in the Bundesliga for several years to come.

    WHAT WADDLE SAID

Waddle told OLBG: "Harry Kane has never relied on pace, he has relied on his brain, his technique and his movement. He is very good at what he does and his goal record is phenomenal. If he wants to come back and be the all-time top Premier League top scorer then you can’t rule it out, but I still think he will be getting chances and scoring at Bayern when he is 37 or 38. I don't think we will see Kane getting sold by Bayern next season. I think they'll be happy to keep him for the next three or four seasons. It would be great for Harry Kane and Spurs if he came back and got the record, but he won’t have that in his mind at the moment."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Kane has won the Bundesliga Golden Boot in both of his campaigns at Bayern, while also lifting the first major silverware of his career when they won the title in 2024-25. He is currently on a contract that runs until 2027.

    WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?

Kane is set to feature as Bayern take on Flamengo in the Club World Cup last 16 on Sunday. The winner of that tie will play Paris Saint-Germain or Inter Miami in the quarter-finals.
