From Bonucci to Higuain: The Serie A stars who could move this summer

Gonzalo Higuain's agent may have been talking up the prospect of his brother forming a formidable striking partnership with Cristiano Ronaldo but, in truth, it was obvious from the moment that the Portuguese superstar arrived in Turin that the Argentine attacker's days at Juventus were numbered.

The only outstanding issue is his next destination. A move to Chelsea would make the most sense, given it would mean a reunion with Maurizio Sarri, under whom Higuain broke the Serie A single-season goals record with Napoli.

However, AC Milan are desperate to land a prolific goalscorer after Andre Silva's struggles in Serie A last season and are now apparently willing to give Leonardo Bonucci back to the Bianconeri, just a year after the defender joined from Juve, as part of a sensational swap deal.

Miralem Pjanic is undoubtedly one of Juve's most important players, the creative hub of the Bianconeri midfield, but speculation is mounting that the Bosnian could depart before the close of the transfer window.

Juve stand to make a huge profit on the €32 million they paid to release Pjanic from his Roma contract in 2016. Indeed, while Pep Guardiola has insisted that Manchester City are not interested, Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are all huge admirers of the 28-year-old playmaker.

Ronaldo's arrival in Turin for over €100m means that Juve now have some book-balancing to do and Daniele Rugani is one of the Old Lady's most valuable assets.

The 23-year-old has never quite exhibited the requisite grit to establish himself as a regular member of the Bianconeri's backline but the two-footed centre-half is as elegant and classy as they come, and would doubtless excel if reunited with former mentor Sarri at Chelsea. 

As Goal has confirmed, the Blues are locked in talks with Juve over the former Empoli defender and all that remains to be decided is the transfee fee, with the Italian champions pushing for €50m.

Juventus refused to allow Alex Sandro move to Chelsea last summer, a decision which undeniably affected the Brazilian's form during the first half of the 2017-18 season.

However, the Old Lady's stance has now softened, not least because of the return of Leonardo Spinazzola after a successful loan spell at Atalanta.

Coach Massimiliano Allegri would still like to keep Alex Sandro but Juve would be willing to consider a colossal offer for the versatile 27-year-old left-back, especially if the player doesn't sign a new contract which expires in two seasons.

Leonardo Bonucci was made AC Milan captain just after sensationally signing from Juventus last summer but his commitment to the club has been wavering since the midway point of what was a trying debut season at San Siro.

The Rossoneri's reinstatement into the Europa League was a boost to their hopes of holding on to the Italy international but it now seems increasingly likely that he will be allowed to leave.

Manchester United are one of a number of elite clubs interested in the defender but, as already mentioned, Milan are drawn to the idea of landing Higuain in exchange for Bonucci, with the stopper giving his okay to returning to his old club.

The Rossoneri would also be open to the idea of swapping Bonucci for Italy centre-half Mattia Caldara, who has only just joined Juve from Atalanta. 

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic remains one of the hottest properties on the market this summer, after a sensational 2017-18 campaign with Lazio. 

The Romans are demanding more than €100m for the Serbia international (president Claudio Lotito even being quoted as asking for €150m) but Real Madrid, PSG, Juventus, Chelsea and Manchester United are all keen on the 23-year-old, who has made no secret of his admiration of Jose Mourinho...

The star of last summer's most dramatic transfer saga, Gianluigi Donnarumma - and his agent Mino Raiola - have kept a lower profile this time around but Alisson's record-breaking move from Roma to Liverpool could change things significantly.

The Giallorossi decided against solidifying their interest in the 19-year-old goalkeeping sensation, who, it must be said, struggled last season. 

However, if Thibaut Courtois leaves Chelsea for Real Madrid, Blues boss Sarri could well push to bring his compatriot to Stamford Bridge.

Jose Callejon has been a revelation since joining Napoli from Real Madrid for a bargain €10m in 2013, forming a wondrous attacking triumvirate with Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne.

However, the trio now look set to be broken up, with new Partenopei coach Carlo Ancelotti favouring a 4-3-2-1 formation in pre-season that will leave Callejon as the odd man out. 

At 31, the Spaniard certainly doesn't want to spend the majority of the upcoming season on the bench and he is now being linked with a move away from the San Paolo.

Malcom's decision to ditch Roma at the last minute and instead join Barcelona could be good news for Domenico Berardi. 

Long touted as one of Italy's next big stars, the Sassuolo attacker has regressed over the past 12 months, with injuries undoubtedly taking their toll on the 23-year-old.

However, Roma coach Eusebio Di Francesco launched Berardi at Sassuolo, while sporting director Monchi is also a big fan of a player who is still young and talented enough to make his mark at the very highest level.

It still seems unlikely that Mauro Icardi will leave Inter this summer, particularly with the Nerazzurri back in the Champions League for the first time in six years.

However, Ronaldo's move to Juve has changed things a tad, with Real now said to be considering completely revamping their forward line, which could mean signing Icardi as a replacement for the ageing Karim Benzema. 

Icardi has been linked with the Blancos several times before and even though Inter want to tie him down to a new deal and increase his buyout clause, the Argentina international would undoubtedly jump at the opportunity to move to Madrid.
