  • WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

The fans were left fuming after they were forced to wait for three hours in long queues while travelling back. Some of them took to social media to vent their anger.

A fan named Gavin Cooney wrote on X, "Gelsenkirchen a total disaster - took nearly 3 hours to get a tram and cover the 7km back to main train station. A 60,000-seater stadium served by 400-person trams going every 15 mins."

Another fan James Olley shared a video from the train station in Gelsenkirchen where several supporters can be seen waiting for a train to arrive. He wrote in the caption, "This really isn’t great. Gelsenkirchen main station packed with fans still trying to get away but trains either not turning up or delayed. Game finished almost 3 hours ago."

Tom stated that he would never come back to Gelsenkirchen again as he wrote, "Gelsenkirchen. Done. Never again."

A handle named Nord Yorkshire Eulen complained about the horrific experience of the fans at Gelsenkirchen as he wrote, "Absolute shambles in Gelsenkirchen last night……. Queue for the tram was horrific, kids crying, screaming, no water or food and people being crushed…….. let’s hope that SuperJourno and man of the people @CraigHope_DM is all over this."
