Sullivan and Albert will be top contributors, but the squad features plenty of attacking talent. Sullivan, the Manchester City-bound star, is set to be a key player for the U.S. after getting several looks with the Union in MLS this season. Albert, meanwhile, is one of the top stars in Dortmund's academy, and was part of the club's squad for this summer's Club World Cup, making him the youngest player in the competition.
Striker Chase Adams, a Columbus Crew product, scored 10 goals in a 22-0 win over the U.S. Virgin Islands in qualifying, in which the U.S. took down Saint Kitts and Nevis, 7-0, and Cuba, 2-0. Also among the attackers are New York Red Bulls regular Julian Hall and Charlotte FC's Nimfasha Berchimas, both among the youngest players in MLS history.
Of the 15 clubs represented, 11 are from MLS. Two European teams, Borussia Dortmund and Sporting Lisbon, are also represented, as are USL Championship clubs Birmingham Legion and Orange County SC.
