Douglas Luiz and Alisha Lehmann reunited! Midfielder begins works at Juventus after Aston Villa transfer & summer holiday

The Copa America, and a subsequent holiday, delayed Luiz's move to Turin to begin life at Juventus. However, the 26-year-old has now joined up with his new team for their pre-season as the next chapter in his career gets underway.

Luiz left Villa in the summer after five seasons with the club, and he departed on a high after helping Unai Emery's side to a fourth-place finish in the Premier League. The Brazilian's partner, Switzerland international Lehmann, has already settled in Turin after she also made the switch from Birmingham in an unusual 'couple' transfer.

There will be a new-look midfield at Juventus this season, with Frenchman Khephren Thuram also joining the Old Lady from Nice. The duo will be key players as Thiago Motta attempts to guide the Italian giants to their first league title since 2019-20.

Luiz will hope it doesn't take him too long to settle into the tactical system that earned Motta attention from across Europe. Juventus have friendlies against Brest and Atletico Madrid to come before their first Serie A game on August 19.
