The incident occurred in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage time when manager Jo Potter opted to bring on Kirsty Howat as a replacement for Shannon O'Brien. Before this final change, Potter had already utilised three distinct windows to introduce Abbie Larkin, Ashleigh Weerden, and Allyson Swaby.
