Cristiano Ronaldo declares he's 'ready for the Nations League' as beaming Al-Nassr star gears up for Portugal duty amid retirement calls

The Portuguese talisman still has the fire burning in his belly to shine at the highest stage and is ready to give his all in the upcoming Nations League fixtures during the international break. Ronaldo has recently clarified that he had no plans to walk away from the Portuguese camp, saying, "it never crossed my mind that my cycle had come to an end."

However, after an underwhelming Euro 2024 campaign, where he failed to find the back of the net, there were questions asked about his form and effectiveness on the international stage. But Ronaldo swept aside his doubters ahead of the Nations League with an assertive social media post where the 39-year-old is seen leaving no stone unturned to bring out his best version during the Selecao training sessions.

Ronaldo shared a carousel of pictures and wrote a caption that read: "Ready for the Nations League! 🇵🇹".

Ronaldo will score his 900th career goal if he finds the net during the international break. However, it will be just another milestone for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who has set his heart on scoring 1000 goals before hanging up his boots.

Ronaldo is expected to start against Croatia on Thursday evening in the first of the two Nations League fixtures during the September international break. The next game is against Scotland on Sunday evening.
