Charlotte FC sign manager Dean Smith to contract extension through 2027

    Charlotte FC have announced that they have signed manager Dean Smith to a contract extension through 2027. The Englishman led the club to a record points total of 51 and their first playoff win in 2024.

    “Dean has been an exceptional leader for Charlotte FC and we are excited for him to sign a new contract,” said Owner David Tepper. “The club’s success over the past year is a reflection of his dedication and commitment to excellence both on and off the pitch. We look forward to what the future holds with Dean leading the way.”

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The club is off to their best start through four matches to begin a season in club history with a record of 2-1-1 through four matches, including impressive victories over FC Cincinnati and Atlanta United and a thrilling draw with the Seattle Sounders. Their lone defeat came at the hands of Inter Miami in a 1-0 loss.
