Cesc Fabregas is a wanted man! Inter eye Como boss as ideal Simone Inzaghi replacement despite ex-Arsenal star agreeing RB Leipzig move

According to La Gazetta dello Sport the former Barcelona and Arsenal midfielder is at the top of the Nerazzurri's list of successors despite reports of him having agreed terms with RB Leipzig to take over as the manager from next season.

Fabregas guided Como to 10th place in Serie A in their first season back in the Italian top flight. After Bayer Leverkusen and Leipzig, Inter are the latest team interested in luring the promising young coach. After failing to win any of the three trophies his team fought for, Simone Inzaghi is expected to leave Italy to take over as Al-Hilal boss, so club chairman Giuseppe Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio feel Fabregas could be the perfect man to replace Inzaghi and rebuild the squad.

Como returned to the top flight after a 21-year absence. A series of relegations had seen Como plummet to Serie D, the bottom tier of Italian football. After the Djarum group of Indonesia completed a takeover in 2019, the club attained promotion to Serie A in 2024, making the Hartono brothers the richest owners in Serie A.

Fabregas will further developments as Como are determined to hold on to their coach and continue their path to the top of Serie A. Meanwhile, Inter are waiting for Inzaghi's decision, who has been made a tempting offer by Al-Hilal to be their coach.
